Paul Ropp opens new store on Jl Raya Ubud across from Biasa his new store. It must see at night! Stunning color.
Really some of the best shopping on the Island of the Gods, Bali can be found in Kuta. We recently discovered a lamp maker in Kuta who designs first-class table and floor lamps from antique reproductions. So we bought two lovely lamps for our Bali home rental! We made the base in glass and chrome with a lime shade!
We love sunset in Bali so we just bought 4 all-weather chairs so we can watch the sun go down from out home rental villa accommodation's second floor balcony. They look like rattan but that is faux (perfect for April Fool's day!) So we are going to make ourselves a sunset potion and relax.
A great remedy after leaving the Denpasar Airport to start your holiday vacation. What a great event! Music, yoga and lots of interesting people to meet! Book your accommodations early next year in Ubud. Spend your holiday vacation with some of the best musicians and yoga teachers in one location. Ubud is truly an artisans center!
Our guests enjoyed a day of silence in our vacation accommodation on March 5th called Nyepi. It is a day to reflect about the previous year and to contemplate the future. All their meals were prepared in advance and candles were provided for lighting. It is the practice to not work, which includes cooking and light is not prohibited. Although this may seem like an interruption it actually is a wonderful time to relax and recharge the senses. Bali is mostly a Hindu practiced religion.
Enjoy a week at our Bali Villa Accommodation anytime! The rains have stopped for a bit and the sun has come out in Ubud. We have had some terrific storms that have even frightened the gecko! Now we are planting again and cleaning our pools. Wonderful to feel the sun on our back as we will enjoy our holiday vacation.
It's mango season in Bali. Each morning our cook goes to the Ubud market to buy fresh mangos for breakfast. During your holiday vacation enjoy honey mangos with yogurt or as a relish over BBQ chicken. Bali accommodation can arrange a trip to Bedugal to visit the mango farms.
At our vacation rental accommodation we can make fresh noodles. After purchasing a modern pasta maker yesterday we have been practicing our skills at making homemade noodles. We found wheat flour at the market and fresh eggs from next door. Mr. Bean has everyone wanting more! Tomorrow we are going to try to make fresh ravioli stuffed with mushrooms!
Our driver, Kadek, will pick you up at the airport and take you to Ubud, which is about a 90 minute ride. You will pass Bird park and if you want he can take you to the Bingtang supermarket to pick up some basic supplies. During your car ride you can discuss with Kadek about where he can take you for shopping and or site seeing. He has been with us for ten years.
